- Can I order checks over the telephone?
- No. A customer must come into a branch location and bring a check
re-order form, a cancelled check, or a deposit slip. A teller or account
representative will verify the information for the order and note any
changes. Checks will be mailed directly to the address shown on the
checks, unless otherwise noted within 10-14 business days.

- Can I open or close an account by postal
mail?
- An account can be closed by postal mail. A customer would need to
send a letter identifying, by account number and primary account holder
name, which account or accounts are to be closed. The letter would need
to be signed and dated by the primary account holder. You must include
a check or your passbook with the letter.
An account, however, cannot be opened by postal mail.
Appropriate identification documents are required when an account is
opened and a customer signature is necessary on the signature card.
A customer may visit any branch
location and speak with an account representative during regular
lobby hours to open
an account.

- Can I pre-qualify for a loan?
- Yes! In order to pre-qualify, a customer needs to meet with a loan
officer for an interview. In the pre-qualification interview, the loan
officer will discuss with the prospective borrower such details as debt-to-income
ratio, employment, and other financial details.
The loan officer will ask for a recent check stub
and about current debt obligations. It is a good idea to write out a
list of current monthly payments and outstanding debts owed and bring
this to the interview. The loan officer will also ask about the probable
source of down payment funds. A preliminary credit report will be obtained
from a local credit bureau during the interview.
With all of this information, the loan officer will
discuss with the potential borrower appropriate loan products and loan
amounts for which the applicant appears to qualify. The process takes
about 30-45 minutes.

- Can I have my payroll check direct-deposited to my West End Savings
Bank checking account?
- Yes! Direct deposit must be initiated by the employer. A West End
Bank, S.B. customer would talk to someone in the payroll department
at their place of employment and request payroll direct deposit. The
employee will need to contact the bank for a correct account number
format. The designated payroll amount will then be automatically deposited
in the customer's account.
